Wine Tour to Armenia Wine Winery
According to biblical legend, after descending from Mount Ararat, Noah planted the first grapevine - marking the beginning of winemaking traditions in Armenia. Recently, archaeologists discovered the world's oldest known winemaking facilities - over 6,000 years old - in a cave near the village of Areni.
Favorable natural conditions of Armenia, ancient indigenous grape varieties, and winemakers’ millennia of winemaking experience have all contributed to the flourishing of the winemaking in Armenia. Today, Armenian winemaking artfully combines this experience and traditions with cutting-edge technology.
In recent years, many new, state-of-the-art wineries have emerged across the country. We invite all lovers and connoisseurs of this noble and healthy drink to embark on a journey through Armenia’s finest wineries and small family-owned wine cellars.
One of the highlights of the tour is Armenia Wine, the largest winery in the South Caucasus. Here, you’ll enjoy tastings of luxury and premium wines, accompanied by elegant platters of assortment of cheese, cured meats, and dried fruits.
We’ll then head north to the Saghmosavank Monastery - the “Monastery of the Psalms.” According to legend, it was founded 17 centuries ago by Saint Gregory the Illuminator. Perched above the breathtaking Kasagh River Gorge, the site offers views that are both majestic and awe-inspiring.
