Garni Temple – Noah’s Garden Maran

Noah’s Garden Restaurant in the village of Garni, next to the temple, has opened a cultural-exhibition shop called "Noah’s Garden." Here, visitors can taste all kinds of Armenian wine, fruit vodkas, brandy, as well as enjoy generous Armenian appetizers, delicious dried fruits, participate in masterclasses in pottery, woodworking, carpet weaving, and lavash baking, enjoy Armenian cuisine at the Maran Restaurant, and shop of Armenian goods.

The Garni Temple is the most famous monument of the pagan and Hellenistic era in Armenia. The Garni Museum-Reserve spreads over 5 hectares near the village of the same name, 28 kilometers east of Yerevan. It includes a number of historical and architectural monuments from the Hellenistic and early Christian era. The most prominent among them are: the Garni Temple, dedicated to the sun god Mithra, and the fortress of the same name. Also of significant interest are the ruins of the royal palace and the bathhouse, built according to the Roman thermae principle.

In 2011, the complex received the prestigious UNESCO-Greece Melina Mercouri Prize.
