Tsaghkadzor
Tsaghkadzor is one of the most popular and hospitable resorts in Armenia. The Armenian monastery ensemble of the XI-XIII centuries is located in the city of Tsaghkadzor, Kotayk region. The Kecharis monastery was founded by princes from the Pahlavuni clan, and its construction continued until the middle of the 13th century.
The complex consists of two chapels, a gavita - an extension at the entrance to the temple, four churches and an old cemetery with khachkars. The very first church of St. Gregory the Illuminator was erected - the main temple of the monastery. The facades and interior decoration of the Kecharis complex look rather restrained. This is one of those small corners of our mountainous country, where the beauty of nature manifests itself in all its versatility.
