Dilidjan
Haghartsin is an Armenian monastery located in the Tavush region of Armenia, 18 km from the city of Dilijan. The Haghartsin complex is located high in the wooded mountains, where eagles are found, and the name of the monastery is translated from the Armenian language as “the game of eagles”.
The most ancient building of the Haghartsin complex is the Church of St. Grigor, built in 1281. In 1244, a small church of St. Stepanos was built - a miniature copy of the main church of St. Gregory. In Haghartsin there is the burial vault of the royal family of Bagratids (XII century).
The refectory is a rare example of architecture. It was erected by the architect Minas in 1248 by Haghartsin, an Armenian monastery located in the Tavush region of Armenia, 18 km from the city of Dilijan. Dilijan attracts people with its unique nature and mild climate. It is known as a resort town located in the western part of the Akhstev River.
